HIJRIYYAH; INSTALLING PROFESSIONALITY

Saya menasihati diri sendiri, dan berpesan kepada semua muslimin, agar kita bertaqwa kepada Allah, dengan melahirkan penghormatan menerusi sifat takut terhadap kekuasaan Allah yang memberi ganjaran dan menyedia pembalasan, menerusi profesionalisme ibadah, menerusi kebolehurusan dan kemampuan tadbir segala kurnianNYA dan kekurangan kerana ujianNYA, serta menerusi persediaan dan peningkatan kesedaran terhadap instrumen penting yang mengikat masa hadapan kita di alam sana, kehidupan yang kekal lagi abadi.
My fellow muslims
We need to realize that the great point of Islam and its proven through its history is that, Islam completely changes those who accept it, no matter how ignorant, rude, ill mannered they were before, into embodiments of all virtues and human values. The intellectual, religious, cultural and sosio economics decadence of the pre Islamic Arabs is known. Islam alone elevated them to be humanity’s guides and teachers for centuries, and models for every age. Islam alone is responsible for major human developments. Having ourselves reflecting the great lessons from the Prophet’s Hijrah and the establishment of the familiar names of months in a year, by connecting it with the Hijrah event, it can be clearly seen and evaluated by its roles in turning human thought away from superstition. The celebration of the new Hijriyyah year should be taken as the right platform in inspiring the urge for more rational and scientific researchand proofs to verify the truth of established convictions, opening the eyes of those accustomed to identifying God with natural phenomena, leading people away from the path of baseless speculation. By preparing ourselves facing this new year, we need to increase our efforts and works toward building abetter muslim society, which based on the true faith and great expectations, as inspired from the Hijrah event. Let’s indulge ourselves into harmonizing faith with knowledge and action, replacing idolatry, the worship of human beings, with a firm faith in God’s unity. On top of all these, our task should stand firm on the basis of to be proud to be a muslim. By having the intention and attitude of positively proud to carry the title as muslim, then we will not be ashamed or hesitate to practicing Allah’s commands, realizing the roles of Islam as the way of life, and certainly not neglecting the responsibilities in any way. So, we need to work on bringing home to all people their true worth and position. Those who proclaimed and worshipped powerful personages realized that their false deities were people just like themselves.
Sidang Jumaat yang dirahmati Allah
Dalam menghayati posisi kita selaku khalifah Allah di muka bumi, kesempatan menerima kunjungan tahun baru dan penghayatan peristiwa hijrah seharusnya menjadikan kita berpendirian dalam pengakuan keislaman kita. Hijrah seharusnya disambut dengan menghayati kehebatan peribadi yang sanggup melakukan apa sahaja, semata-matapercaya kepada janji Allah dan RasulNYA. Setelah hijrah berlangsung, proses seterusnya ialah menanamkan sifat berbangga menjadi muslim, menyematkan di dadasetiap peribadi akan ksanggupan untuk berkorban dan bergerak aktif dalam masyarakat, serta melabelkan pada diri setiap muslim, bahawa Islam sebenarnya dan semestinya disebar tara, di kongsi rata dan disampaikan melata kepada semua manusia, agar kerahmatan dirasai segenap pelosok dunia. Namun, untuk mencapai ini, Islam seharusnya kukuh dengan keutuhan penganutnya. Kesatuan umat Islam perlu dijana terlebih dahulu sebelum kesatuan manusia umum dicapai. Bukankah ini merupakan pengamatan hijrah, di mana umat Islam akhirnya memperoleh platform untuk menyatukan manusia pelbagai pandangan, latar belakang dan kepercayaan. Kita semestinya bekerjasama pada perkara-perkara yang disepakati dan merupakan konsensus bersama. Kita semestinya berlapang dada dan sudi menghulur kemaafan atau menerima keuzuran pada perkara cabang dan sampingan, yakni selain fundamental dan doktrin asas Islam. Baginda Rasulullah menyentuh hati umatnya dengan menginspirasikan kesatuan kemanusiaan, kesaksamaan manusia selaku hamba Allah, dan kebebasan bermaruah, yakni berpandu dan mengurus selia kejernihan fitrah manusia dan berpandu paksi hukum Allah. Kehebatan dan kemantapan aqidah, kejituan dan keindahan persembahan ibadah, kemurnian dan kemajmukan bermuamalah, serta ketajaman akhlak Islamiyyah yang melahirkan keperibadian professional bertaraf dunia, merupakan agenda yang perlu diisi bersempena sambutan tahun baru 1430 Hijriyyah dan Masihi 2009. Ziarah kita ke segenap dan merata tempat di dunia, khususnya dipersekitaran bumi para anbiya’, menatijahkan kesayuan hati pabila melihat kesan tinggalan dan persemadian para sahabat Rasulullah. Juga terhadap keunikan kubu, istana dan bangunan yang suatu ketika dulunya milik umat islam, yang memperlihatkan bahawa imej Islam tidak hanya di dalam rumah Allah, tetapi Islam itu perlu disampaikan, dikongsi dan diratai keindahannya. Muslim perlu berinteraksi tanpa mengenal dan memilih audiens pelbagai bangsa dan agama, perlu berada di tengah masyarakat, perlu meredah suasana yang pelbagai, keran di penghujung proses itu, bakal memperlihatkan kejituan aqidah dan ibadah.
My dear muslims
Let us professionally work out the content of the coming new year. Celebrating new year should start with the energy of inspiring the thoughts of humanity’s unity, human equality and real freedom. Let’s work together in establishing a practical framework from all aspects of international relations and regulating the laws of war and peace. The event of Hijrah surely considered as founding one of the most brilliant civilizations in history. Let’s put the similarities as supportive elements and the advantages of strength, and leave aside the differences on things that just happen to be in the way of appreciating opinions and diversity of solving issues. It is important to learn about the variation and multi opinions on the performance of acts of worship, as it’ll show us the openness of Islam, thus agreeing on the roles of the intellectuality, as a gift from Allah. Islam is based on essential human nature, which does not change over the time or according to the location. To conclude, let’s welcome the new year of Hijriyyah calendar, and make the full use of it by becoming a true muslim, positively proud to be one, and enhance the motivation on performing the obligations.
