KHUTBAH JUMAAT 168 – 01 JANUARI 2009

ISLAM IN 2010

Sidang Jumaat yang dirahmati Allah

Saya berpesan kepada diri sendiri, dan menasihati hadirin jumaat dengan gesaan untuk bertaqwa kepada Allah, saranan untuk mentaati suruhan dan meninggalkan laranganNYA, perkongsian ilmu, maklumat dan nasihat untuk terus berpaksi aqidah dan berpatisipasi ibadah berprinsipkan kehendak Ilahi dan suluhan sunnah Rasulullah. My dear muslims, I hereby advise myself and with the same tone of sharing, sincerely advising all of you to have taqwa, to love Allah with the performance and adherence to His order and to fear His punishment for those who choose to spare away.

My brothers

Many is actually looking at the possibility of what will 2010 be providing or promising to Islam and its followers. Would there still be prejudism uphold simply whenever the word Islam is uttered, or muslims issues be conversed? Or would it slight, if not radical change will happen, in terms of finding the best way to address world issues such as crimes, suicides and terrorists, by not carrying Islam along its prosecutions. What would it be should Islam will actually being given a chance to prove what exactly stand its divine principal and the openness of its substantials to the world? Violent regime carried out by so call muslims, if that’s what the world is fearing to, do notice that this is a typical feature of so many other societies, and such activities are prohibited by any religion. Should it happened to be committed by muslims or Christians or Jews, we must aware that it’s not the religion, it’s the ignorance of individuals and groups that should be highlighted. Hence, any efforts or enforcement to it should be well addressed to its target, and not of collecting any credit or mileage by blaming other religion, in which normally Islam would be negatively activated. Voices heard all over UK and parts of Europe recently, showing the ‘concern’ of the people, which obviously from those who wanted the rest of the people to believe, that Europe is for the Christians, UK is the land of Christians and such similar propagation. The concern of the increasing estimation of muslim population in many Europe countries gives the extremists the opportunity to accuse that the movement is intended to make this region as the land of Islam, and such idea must be sectioned and prevented. Medias are being informed and suggested to have this issue addressed properly and open, but the chance of getting response and counter opinions from muslims remain in a low pace. Should the people of UK and the rest of European being given the room for explanation on Islamic side, we believe that it will not resulting the flood of conversions to Islam, as what they appeared to fear of, rather it will ditch the prejudice behaviour or suspicious regulations and acts towards Islam. As taken from many muslims scholars, the land of Islam was interpreted in many ways and dimensions, and none, we repeat none, that suggested extreme pressure or negative impact towards Christians or other religions. Some gave the opinion that the land of Islam, is the a land where Islamic rules apply, as said by Ibn al Qayyim, and the restrictions are applied to only muslims, as others can precieed with their own believe and way of worship. Some says that it is a land where a muslim ruler has control over its affairs. And this is a normal practice and can be seen in so many Islamic countries in this world, where the rulers are muslims, and by its national principal, no threat given to non muslim countries, unlike vice versa. Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that the land of Islam is a land of where the practicing of public acts of worship is allowed. He also mentioned that a land of Islam is a land of justice, to all, the believers and the non believers.

Muslimin yang berbahagia

Bersempena dengan kedatangan tahun baru hijriyyah ini, serta tahun baru calendar Gregorian ini, umat Islam diseru untuk mempromosikan dunia tanpa sempadan keselamatan dan pemeliharaan hak manusia. Negara Islam atau empayar Islam merencanakan agendanya, bahawa negara Islam ialah negara di mana tahap keselamatan dan kehidupan dipelihara, maruah dan harga diri manusia, rakyat dan negaranya dihormati, dan hak kehidupan, bersyariat, beraqidah dan beribadah diberi keluasan tanpa batasan prejudis, serta tanpa sandaran syak wasangka. Jika ini dipegang oleh pemimpin dunia, pasti tidak aka nada mana-mana pemimpin dan negara yang akan mencanangkan perkara remeh sebagai agenda keselamatan dunia, seperti tradisi menutup muka sebahagian wanita muslim yang meraikan budaya bangsa dan tradisi setempatnya, pembinaan menara masjid dan laungan azan yang disangka mempromosikan semangat melawan bukan Islam. Andai kesepakatan keluhuran konsensus antara agama disepakati, Judaism dengan tiupan serombongnya, kristian dengan lantunan gendang locengnya, dan Islam dengan laungan suara manusianya, yang setiap satunya berfungsi memberikan hanya untuk input positif kepada penganutnya, pasti segala isu yang kita lewati pada tahun 2009, akan dikategorikan sebagai kecil dan dunia boleh beranjak dengan lebih positif untuk memberikan perhatian utama kepada isu dasar yang melibatkan sekuriti sebenar kehidupan manusia seperti pencemaran alam, wabak penyakit dan agenda memuliakan taraf manusia selaku pemimpin di muka bumi. Umat Islam perlu berperanan untuk mengusulkan kesemua ini, mengikut kerangka organisasi dan kepakaran kendiri, di samping mengguna pakai ruang yang ada untuk mempromosikan konsep ‘mesra keselamatan dan keamanan’. Negara Islam tidak hanya diukur secara skeptikal berdasarkan jumlah rakyat muslimnya ramai, atau kerana pemimpinnya terdiri dari kalangan umat Islam, tetapi lebih dari itu, bumi Islam atau tanah Islam terbina andai keselamatan manusia dan sekuriti keamanan dalam kehidupan dipaksi kukuh terlebih dahulu. Kita tidak seharusnya berbangga dan berpada dengan majoriti muslim di satu-satu tempat atau negara semata-mata, dan mengabaikan kuantiti pemeliharaan hak serta kualiti penjagaan sekuriti dan keamanan. Islam itu keamanan, kedamaian dan keselamatan. Andai mana-mana bumi di dunia ini, mempunyai dan memiliki ciri-ciri sebegini, biar sekecil minoriti mana umat islam di dalamnya, ia adalah tanah Islam. Hijrah pertama dilaksanakan ke Ethopia, di mana pemimpin dan rakyatnya beragama Nasrani. Hikmah yang tersirat adalah janji keamanan dan potensi keselamatan hak, maruah dan nyawa manusia yang berada di dalamnya. Hanya ketika pembukaan kota Makkah oleh baginda Rasulullah, Makkah menjadi negara Islam dan bumi kedaulatan dan ketuanan Islam. Bukan kerana pemimpinnya muslim, bukan kerana kekuatan ketumbukan tentera Islam, tetapi kerana pada detik itu, bumi Makkah mula melihat, memahami dan menghayati erti ketenangan hidup, nilai kedamaian dan keamanan, rasa sekuriti dan keselamatan yang terbela. Mereka yang kekal dengan agama budaya dan keturunannya, tidak dipaksa untuk menerima dan menganut Islam. Mereka yang kaya harta dan mulia tinggi jawatannya, tidak dipaksa untuk menyerahkannya kepada umat Islam. Ini kerana Islam adalah keamanan dan menjanjikan hanya ketenangan, keselamatan dan kehormatan dalam kehidupan. Zaman ini bukan zaman untuk mempertikai dan bertikam lidah berkaitan Islam atau kurang Islam, muslim atau kafir, tetapi dunia dan penduduknya perlu diberikan kefahaman dan diusahakan kesefahaman tentang beza antara negara dan diri yang selamat dengan negara dan diri yang goyah tanpa sekuriti. Amat malang andai negara Islam terpaksa menyaksikan pertelingkahan antara cendikiawan Islam, perbalahan antara pelaku dakwah dan penyumbang aset mulia kepada masyarakat, atau terpaksa menonton sahaja pertikaian antara negara-negara Islam sendiri. Undang-undang Islam mengisyaratkan menerusi tujuan atau maqsidnya iaitu pencapaian keamanan, keadilan, kepatuhan, dan pemeliharaan nyawa an diri, harta dan keluarga, minda dan intelektualiti, maruah dan harga diri, serta yang utama, keimanan dan keyakinan beragama. Kerana itu, berdasarkan pengalaman yang dilalui sendiri, serta diperkuatkan dengan bukti sekeliling di pelbagai benua di dunia ini, ramai yang menyedari dan memilih islam sebagai jalan hidupnya, berdasarkan kepada apa yang ditawarkan oleh Islam, dan bukan kerana tertarik kepada apa yang disajikan oleh perlakuan dan penampilan kualiti umat Islam.

My fellow muslims

The Prophet had said, ‘No sin has a faster Divine punishment than the sin of injustice’. The legal philosophy and purpose is to achieve the purpose and higher objectives of Islamic Law such as justice, freedom of choice, orderliness, and the preservation of faith or religion, soul or life, lineage or family, mind or intellect, dignity or honour, and wealth or property. As for the UK, or any European countries, let us finger the point that, the existence of enough security and freedom to allow Muslims to practice religion is, rationally speaking, more essential than the religion of the ruler. Based on our own observations, we’ve seen a lot of countries ruled by non muslim figures, eventually practiced Islamic acts more and higher than what seems to be witnessed in many Arabic or any other muslim countries. Islam is essentially seen in many aspects in countries where muslims are minorities, and at the same time, sadly to say, not many can be put into high praise when it comes for Islamic countries to prove the strength of its majority muslims to put it in a practical line. Disciplines, health awareness, hygiene, corruption, welfare to the poor and the needy, facilities to disables, are some that can be stated as examples. In the spirit of this new year, both Hijriyyah and Gregorian, muslims must strive to positively image the acts of worship, publicly. If the Islamic acts of worship are evident in streets and public places, this certainly entails that Islam is dominant. It is a true signs that a certain land is a land where muslims and non muslims can live together peacefully. The three most fundamental issues, the security, freedom of practicing religion and just are still quite relative to be totally considered by many countries and societies, muslim one or non muslims. How great would it be in this new year that, Europe can set a new fresh exemplary of providing the true openness of these matters to all, Christians, Jews and muslims. Islam is not a phobia, it is to be acknowledged and to be accepted of its existence.
