Merdeka Karnival, TAARC Brickendonbury

25 Sept. 2010 - It's Merdeka Celebration again. Every year, we went up to Brickendonbury, about an hour driving from Central London, to join the massive crowd of Malaysians and other nationalities in the Merdeka Karnival. Compared to the previous years attending the Carnival, there's a lot of new things happened in the karnival this year. Our guest of honour were DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong and DYMM Raja Permaisuri Agong. Filling up the VIP list were 2 Ministers and 2 Deputy Ministers. As for me, apart from the supplication recital upon the arrival of His Majesty, I've been given a task to perform on stage. Something that had never came across into my mind, though this was my fourth time attending the carnival. I thanked my colleague, Dzuhair for this new experience and believe. Having razin and Imran away in Malaysia, I managed to team up with Rashidi and Lokman for the unplugged session. Thanks so much for the memories :)

Weekly Circle @ MSD

23 Sept. 2010 -The weekly circle resumes starting this week. After a long recess during the Ramadhan and Eid, we praise Allah for the opportunity to organise it at MSD. Apart from our normal itinerary of Quran recitation and tazkirah, I liaised with Dzuhair to get Afdlin Shauqi to attend the circle. He's here in UK to fulfil the invitation to perform at our Merdeka Karnival. A creative person and I thought it would be good if he could share some of his opinions to the audience. It may not be directly touch religious issues, but that's what this circle is all about. Since I took it over in 2006, I named it as our sharing of knowledge and experience session. Both are parts of values that need to be communicated. Thanks to all for coming and may Allah bless us in this life and in the hereafter.

Fiqh Talk, Belfast

19 Sept. 2010 - It was nice to be able to visit Belfast again. Thanks to QMC for organising the talk and made me part of it. The talk was held at our Malaysian Student Centre of Belfast, which I haven't got an ample time to explore the whole of its new faces. Synchronising the event with Dr. Haniah and family, who was my ex student back in SEMERA, can never be better. Thanks to the special hospitality given. I delivered the talk to our new batch engineering students at Queen's University. I've also brought the collection of my books, as well as my single cd, to be given to QMC. Thanks to Us Nabir, Aminul, Atiqah and the rest of the committees. Saya tenang di Belfast :)
